STEaM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Have fun learning together as a family as you apply your faith. God is a God of order. While things may appear random, indeed, they are not.
This family event is filled with all things related to STEaM, with lots of hands on learning through Bible lessons and Scripture. Get a little messy, discover how vast, and deep, and wide God is! He is the Master Creator.

God created order. As you wander today, may you discover more of who God is and how much He loves us! Each station has supplies and instructions for you to investigate and explore.
Station 1: Discover Your Unique Fingerprint Your fingerprints are unique to YOU! Each person has a different fingerprint. Isn’t God amazing?! Even though we can't always see them, fingerprints are left behind whenever we touch something.
Place your fingerprint on an un-inflated balloon, then inflate the balloon to see their fingerprint on a larger scale. what is your fingerprint: an arch, loop or whorl.?
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place. Psalm 8:3
Station 2: Build a working Catapult - image at end of document A Catapult is a device used to launch an object in a specified direction. Using Popsicle sticks and rubber bands, create a catapult to launch marshmallows at a target.
1. Stack 4 Popsicle sticks on top of one another. Rubber band each end, tightly. 2. Stack 2 Popsicle sticks on top of one another, Rubber band one end, tightly. 3. Place the stack of 4 sticks inside the stack of 2 sticks. Rubber band the two together, crossing over, making it secure. 4. Hot glue a launching pad to the end of the top stick. Let cool! 5. Place a marshmallow in the launch pad and test your catapult. Make any adjustments. 6. Test your catapult by aiming at the target!

Station 3: Symmetrical Snowflakes Using Popsicle sticks, create a symmetrical snowflake.
No two snowflakes are alike. GOD is AMAZING!

Station 4: Twirly Birds and Air - images at end of document Make a paper twirly bird and test its flight.
As a family, talk about….. What force caused the twirly birds to float or spin? Gravity pulls it down; air under the wings pushes against them, causing the twirly bird to spin. What can air push with a force? Air can lift a kite to make it fly. Strong wind can break trees and destroy buildings. Air can push and pull sailboats across the surface of the water. Moving air can move objects. What have you seen the wind move? Can you stop the wind?
The wind makes some BIG waves and also some BIG trouble for Jesus’ friends who were out in a boat one night. Read the Bible story together from Luke 8:22-25.
Station 5: Explore Volume with Popcorn Pop some fresh popcorn!
1. Measure 1/4 c popcorn kernels 2. Carefully pour them into the popper 3. Turn on the popper 4. Watch it pop! 5. When cooled, measure how much popped corn you have. Eat your popcorn!

Station 6: Wind Powered Car - image at end of document Using the materials available to you, create a wind powered car and race it on the test track.
And they marveled, saying to one another, “who is this, that eve the wind and the waves obey Him.” Luke 8:28b
Station 7: Make a Kazoo - image at end of document 1. Decorate 2 Popsicle sticks with duct tape 2. wrap 1 rubber band the long way around 1 Popsicle stick 3. Layer the 2 Popsicle sticks on top of one another and tightly wrap a rubber band around each end.

Station 8: Magnifying Glasses and Rocks Use a magnifying glass to look at rocks. Isn’t GOD amazing?
